Sigma BIPP (Battering Intervention & Prevention Program) is an accredited program by the Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). BIPP consists of groups for family violence offenders, in which offenders are held accountable for past abusive behaviors and taught the fundamentals of leading a non-violent lifestyle. The main goals of BIPP are to enhance the safety of battered women and their children although BIPP works with Offenders. BIPP provides a designated criminal justice response to family violence that is an economical alternative to incarceration and provides an extension of supervision for family offenders. BIPP not only enhances the safety of victims and holds batterers accountable for their abusive behaviors, but also changes ingrained beliefs. Sigma BIPP welcomes referrals from courts, probation, the Department of Family Protective Services (DFPS/CPS), judges, volunteers, and others. Sigma BIPP is an 18 week program, with each session 2 hours long. This program requires one orientation, two individual sessions (intake, exit evaluation), and 18 group sessions. The program costs: · Orientation:$30.00 · Individual Intake session-$45.00 · Group sessions-$30.00 per group, 18 sessions (one group per week) · Exit Interview (individual session)-$45.00 Total Cost is $660.00. Any person who is abusive (physically, sexually, verbally, psychologically, and emotionally) towards an intimate partner (spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, dating relationship) and/or court, probation, CPS (DFPS) ordered.
