Child Group Therapy
Child Group Therapy allows children to interact with peers in their natural state of being and communicating through play. This form of play therapy is child-centered and is geared to help the children learn more about themselves and their relationships with the world around them. By watching children play with other children, our therapists are able to identify behavioral patterns and get more insight into the child’s perspective in terms of their thoughts, feelings, motivations, and struggles better than having a child sit and talk. Play therapy groups allow children to express emotions and problems that would be too difficult to discuss with another person. Through play therapy, children learn to communicate with others, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn effective coping strategies as it relates to better interactions with others.
